Process Arts Group Workshops
Process Art is a healing art form centered around the journey of discovery in the context of community. This trust-based process happens through participants being led through prompts, exercises, and questions while simultaneously engaging in expressive arts. Process Art often moves us out of stuck places as we bear witness to one another’s life experiences, thoughts and emotions where healing can occur in a special way in the context of community. The result of your creation will reflect what’s happening in your body, heart, soul and mind. Process Arts often shed new light on thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors thus gaining clarity, healing and change. Click here to see photos of client’s work.
Process Art Workshops are offered in small groups (2-6) where confidentiality is held in high-esteem. Process Art Workshops include mixed media art supplies: Acrylic Paints, Ink, Collage, Clay, Watercolor & Various Tools (with the exception of glass mosaic supplies).
Vessels of Imperfection
Our human frames are like vessels of clay-made of the same substance but uniquely shaped. We all have cracks and imperfections. What if these cracks that come from life's difficult seasons are actually gifts? What if the broken imperfect things are actually intended to help us see more clearly, hear more intently and grow in beauty? This workshop gives you the opportunity to choose a unique vessel, break it, remake it and discover the beauty that can come from the gift of imperfections. Workshop Medium: Clay & Mixed Media. See photos of the process.
Living Inside Out
We are complex beings formed by a loving God and shaped by our environment and community. One of our deepest longings is to be truly known for who we truly are and accepted and loved. But this requires relational safety, trust and vulnerability. We sometimes believe it’s better to live guarded, protected and isolated. While this may feel safer, it inextricably leads to disconnection, thus unmet longings. In this workshop, we will explore the intersection of neuroscience around “being known” and how we can move toward living a life of authentic connection with God, ourselves and others as we interact with mixed media and creatively imagine what it can look like to live deeply authentic from a place of freedom. Content for this class will include excerpts from the movie, “Inside Out” along with nuggets from “Being Known” Podcast and book, The Soul of Desire by Curt Thompson, MD. Workshop Medium: Wood (Wooden Russian Nesting Dolls) & Acrylic Paint.
(Un)Covering
Have you ever wondered, “will I ever get through this?” Has grief ever darkened your door like a thief in the night? If you are human, you’ve encountered grief but we experience grief differently and all too often our culture encourages use to avoid it. This workshop will gently walk you through considering grief in the context of nurture, refuge, presence and connection. We will also discover how grief and love are inextricably intertwined. Workshop Medium: Collage & Mixed Media. See photos.
Soulful Art Journaling
Art Journaling is about spending time in a safe confidential place breathing deep, listening, and expressing yourself through the beauty of words, visual art & song. Sessions will have an optional theme led by prompts, exercises, and quotes from beloved writers, music and various inspiring works from artists. Workshop Medium: Art Journal, Ink & Mixed Media.

What people are saying about Process Art Workshops ~
“This Process Art Mini Retreat was impactful for me. I don’t consider myself an artist in any way, shape or form. Thankfully you don’t have to be an artist to attend something like this. The time we had was filled with peace and soft music played while we were led through prompts and I felt safe, comforted and cared for. It was an experience I am grateful for.” ~ Kelly, Coeur D’Alene
“Through the art process … I was surprisingly able to release some of the grief deep down inside me that had been locked up …I believe my wounds from the Church are starting to heal.”~ Rose, Spokane
“I experienced a lot of delight, awe, and unfolding of synchronicity…things just seems to fall together in a beautiful and surprising way!.” ~ Elise, Coeur d’Alene
“Process Art was a powerful exercise and unlike anything I’ve ever done. The contrast of where I started with a jagged star and chaotic lines representing my current life state versus where God brought me back to a vision He gave me over 3 years ago was a wonderful reminder of what my life looks like when I’m attempting to do it alone versus allowing God to lead me.” ~ Josette, San Diego
